All things considered, my first trimester has been pretty mild - a few weeks of queasiness, but kept almost everything down and no real aversions or cravings. I was tired for a few weeks too and took quite a few lunch break naps at work. In the past week as the queasiness has faded away my metabolism seems to have kicked into overdrive. Even after a big meal I'm still hungry within a few hours. At this rate the baby will eat us out of house and home before he/she even gets here!
Fortunately I've been able to stay pretty active with yoga, cycling, and rollerblading. The rollerblading will have to go soon as I get a little further along, but the yoga should be healthy and helpful all the way through with modifications. And thanks to my new bike trainer, I'll also be able to keep riding my bike from the safety of our house.
We took our first "belly picture" tonight and will do another one each week to track the growing baby bump. So far, no weight gain, but that can't be too far away with my appetite these days!
